Gunther Werks has just delivered an impressive unique model 911 Turbo for a client from the East Coast – and it is simultaneously raw power and boutique luxury. Presented publicly at the 9th annual event in Miami, the commission is called “Alchemy” and its name fits: it combines modern supercar performance with personalisation, focused on craftsmanship, right down to the paintwork, which transforms with the lights and interior details, clad in genuine 24-carat rose gold.

Gunther Werks' first Turbo Coupe commission from the East Coast

This Miami specification car is more than just its dazzle. Gunther Werks calls it the first Turbo Coupe commission for the marque, delivered to a client from the East Coast, and it appears as the latest moment in the spotlight for the company’s Turbo programme, which is limited to 75 cars worldwide. Like other works by Gunther Werks,it starts with a Porsche 911 with air cooling – after which it is essentially transformed into a modern, lightweight restored model with much more power, capability, and refinement than the original ever dreamed of.

Created in collaboration with Prestige Imports and Gunther Werks Miami, the project underscores where the market for luxury restorations is heading: buyers no longer just want speed. They want a car that is flawlessly them – built to personal specification, finished as a luxury objet d’art, and rare enough that you don’t park next to a twin.

A colour-changing exterior coating, designed to hypnotise

The Miami Commission’s main feature is its specially developed, colour-changing exterior coating – developed over five months by the CMF (Colour, Material and Finish) and paint team at Gunther Werks. They experimented with many formulations before arriving at a green base coating that changes character depending on the environment, drawing out copper, gold, and bronze tones when the light hits at different angles.

This is a paint that does not just “look good” – it moves. In bright sunlight, it reads as alive and like a precious stone; under shadow or artificial lighting, it takes on warmer metallic nuances, giving the car a constantly changing presence. In a world full of predictable specifications and familiar leaflets, this is the kind of finish that stops people in their tracks.

To support the vision aremagnesium Turbo Twist wheels, finished in bronze, paired with central-locking hoods for a true motorsport atmosphere. And as Gunther Werks never treats style separately from function, the construction preserves the hardware of the Turbo programme, first and foremost geared towards performance: an entirely carbon-fibre bodywork structure, widened track, and aerodynamic and cooling changes designed to handle serious speed and serious heat.

840 hp, rear-wheel drive, and a manual gearbox – of course

Even with all the attention to aesthetics, the heart of the Miami Commission is still pure Gunther Werks: extreme performance with an analogue edge. The power comes from a hand-built 4.0-litre twin-turbo air-cooled boxer six-cylinder engine, producing over 840 horsepower and more than 600 lb-ft of torque. It sends this power exclusively to the rear wheels, channelled through a six-speed manual gearbox and a limited-slip differential.

This combination – immense power, rear-wheel drive, and a manual gearbox – guarantees that this car is not just made for admiration. It is made to feel alive and demanding, a kind of car where the driver is not just along for the ride. This is a restoration that still respects the old-fashioned enjoyment of a 911, even if it completely rewrites the ceiling of performance.

A cabin that combines motorsport with jewellery-level details

Inside, the Alchemy is heavily geared towards a tactful luxury. The cabin is upholstered in Italian leather, painted in a warm tobacco tone, and contrasted with red motor sport accents to maintain an atmosphere focused on performance rather than sheer opulence. The highlight – and the detail everyone will talk about – is the use of 24-carat rose gold plating on selected components, including the speedometer and wheel controls.

This is a bold move, but it aligns with the concept: this is a car designed to feel like a bespoke order, rather than just a modified Porsche. The gold is not there to be discreet – it is there to announce that no expense has been spared and that personalisation has been a priority from the outset.

Power-to-weight ratio of a supercar in a 911 package

Günter Werks claims the weight is around 2750 pounds, which is the moment when the entire construction becomes scandalously impressive. Combine this weight with over 840 horsepower and you get a power-to-weight ratio that, according to the companysurpasses that of the Bugatti Veyron – a wild claimgiven that the Turbo Coupe is still at its core a 911 silhouette with a manual gearbox and rear-wheel drive.

This is what makes the Miami Commission so captivating: this is not just a flashy specification with expensive materials. This is a lightweight, carbon-bodied, strongly engineered restorer that can legitimately move alongside contemporary hypercars on key metrics – while simultaneously looking like nothing else on the road.
