Bridgestone has been selected as the sole tire partner for the new Maserati MCPURA — a supercar that continues the legacy of the highly acclaimed MC20 and carries the brand's sports spirit of the trident into its next chapter. MCPURA is offered with a 3.0-liter V6 engine with twin turbochargers, 630 hp, and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in under 2.9 seconds.
To respond to this level of performance, Bridgestone develops special tires Potenza Sport, specifically created for MCPURA. These ultra-high-performance tires are designed to unleash the full potential of the supercar, combining Bridgestone's experience in motorsports with advanced tread and rubber compound technologies. The result is a tire focused on more precise handling, better control, and a more dynamic feel behind the wheel.
Created for precision, speed, and stability
The specially developed Bridgestone Potenza Sport feature an enhanced asymmetric tread design, created to ensure precise steering feedback and high stability in corners. The tread configuration is tuned to manage load transfer during intense driving and to maintain consistent performance across a wide operating range.
Bridgestone also develops a special rubber compound and individually designed carcass structure for MCPURA. These elements optimize the contact patch distribution and thermal stability, allowing the car to achieve faster and more consistent lap times without compromising driver confidence and control.
In the development process, the technology Bridgestone Virtual Tyre Development as well as predictive simulation tools were used. They assist in early design optimization and accelerate the finalization of specifications. Subsequent joint track tests confirm exceptional dynamic performance, especially under high lateral loads, while maintaining stability at high speeds.
Continuation of a long-term partnership with Maserati
The Maserati MCPURA project builds on the long-term collaboration between Bridgestone and Maserati. Bridgestone has already developed special tires for models such as Maserati MC20, Maserati Grecale and Maserati Grecale Folgore.
The tires for MCPURA are developed and produced in Europe. They are offered in size 245/35 ZR20 95Y for the front axle and 305/30 ZR20 103Y for the rear axle. Their sidewall features the distinctive marking „MGT“ — Maserati Genuine Tyres, which highlights their exclusive development for Maserati.
As noted by Adrian Tormann, Director of „Original Equipment Sales for Europe“ at Bridgestone EMEA, such specially developed solutions are an example of the company's innovations and R&D capabilities. They also demonstrate how the experience gained in creating specialized ultra-high-performance tires finds application in the broader Bridgestone portfolio for the secondary market.
